Data Centre proposed for 12 Mars Road Lane Cove

The Goodman Group have lodged a development application with the NSW Department of Planning to build a data centre at 12 Mars Road in Lane Cove West.

The site is located in the Lane Cove West Business Park and the developer is currently preparing an Environmental Impact Statement.

Social Impact Study

The Goodman Group commissioned Urbis Social Planning to prepare a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) to support the EIS.

13 June 2025 - Community Engagement Update

The Goodman Group has confirmed its upcoming community engagement strategy, following discussions with Council. While Council had previously offered to host a community meeting, Goodman has advised they will proceed with the below engagement program, facilitated by Urbis.

The engagement activities include:

  • Notifications to nearby residents seeking feedback preferences and providing details on how to register for further engagement

  • A mid-week online webinar to present project information and take community questions

  • A weekend series of small focus meetings with local residents and the project team

  • A newsletter summarising community feedback and next steps

Following Council’s feedback, Goodman has agreed to extend invitations to additional nearby residents and West Ward residents for the webinar and focus meetings. Council will also receive webinar details to share with anyone who contacts Council directly.
