Within Lane Cove Car Parks
Council provides access to 21 electric vehicle (EV)charging stations in Lane Cove car parks:
-
Six at The Canopy (P3) including two fast charging stations (P2). The fast charging stations require customers to download the Evie App before use.
-
Four in Little Street Car Park (P4)
-
Five at Market Square Car Park (P2)
-
Six at St Leonards Central Car Park (88 Christie Street). Four are free and two are pay on demand 'fast' chargers.
You can receive free charging and only pay (for parking) for a stay exceeding 3 hours at the Little Street and Market Square carparks and on P3 of The Canopy.
Please note changes to free charging as of 1 July 2024:
Please be advised, that as of 1 July 2024 Council will commence applying a fee of $0.20/kwh for EV Charging stations at The Canopy, Market Square and St Leonards Central Car Parks.
As you are aware, Council has previously provided this service free of charge, however in light of rising costs (generally) coupled with the vast majority of visitors to these car parks not driving electric vehicles, this approach delivers a degree of equity to drivers and residents alike.
On street Facilities
From November 2023 there are also seven on-street parking spaces.
The new on-street chargers are available at parking spots close to and/or at the following addresses:
Upon parking in one of the designated spaces, motorists use the relevant App associated with the charging device. EV owners can then plug in their own charging cables to their car and the unit affixed to the street pole before following the steps on their App to start charging.
To view the closest EV charging option to you, visit our What's Around Me? Online Map.
You can also send Council an email to suggest a future location for an on-street EV charger.
