A-Z of Recycling

Drop off plastic bread tags for free at the Civic Centre Recycling Station, or the Lane Cove Toy Library/Sydney Library of Things at 47 Burns Bay Rd.

Book a free collection through HomeCycle or use your household red bin.

Empty cans can be added to your yellow recycling bin or taken two of our Return and Earn stations in Lane Cove 

Accepted at Sims Metal

Cardboard can be flattened and disposed through your blue bin. Larger quantities can be collected for free through HomeCycle. 

Can be disposed of through a FREE Council Clean up

Drop them off for free at the Northern Sydney CRC (Community Recycling Centre) in Artarmon. 

Unfortunately, the hard plastic covers of CD's, DVD's and tape cassetttes cannot be recycled. They go in your red landfill bin.

Can be disposed of at a Household Chemical CleanOut event

Book a free collection of both wearable and non-wearable clothing through HomeCycle.

Textiles and Clothing are NO LONGER accepted at the Community Recycling Centre in Artarmon (from 26 October 2025).

Wearable clothes can be donated to charity shops, reused, repurposed or sold on second-hand marketplaces. Please make sure they are washed and clean if dropping off to a charity or consignment shop. They do not wash items and cannot sell them if they are dirty or smelly.  

Small amounts of clothing can be dropped off at the recycling trailer on P1 at The Canopy carpark.
