Synergy Youth Centre teamed up with Road Safety to commission artist Sam Absurd to create a vibrant new mural in Lane Cove, promoting bike safety among young people.
The mural, featured on the exterior wall of Synergy Youth Centre, was developed through a series of three interactive workshops. During these sessions, local young people worked closely with Absurd and Road Safety representatives to explore ideas around bike safety while expressing their creativity.
Participants collaborated on design concepts, learning about safe riding practices and sharing their own experiences. Absurd then incorporated these ideas and discussions into the final mural design, bringing the youths' vision to life.
The completed artwork was installed to coincide with Ride to School Day on Friday 20 March, reinforcing the importance of bike safety in a visually vibrant and community focused way.
