Playing Fields to Close for Weed Spraying

Council contractors will be spraying playing fields at four locations this Thursday 18 September 2025:

• Pottery Green Oval
• Tantallon Oval
• Kingsford Smith Oval
• Burns Bay Reserve

Spraying will start in the early morning to reduce disruption to field users with the fields reopening at approximately 3:00pm.

The spray being used is Casper Turf Herbicide.

Notification signs will be placed at the entry points to the ovals the day prior. Please follow on-site signage and do not use the area while spraying is in progress. Council will keep the oval closed whilst the chemical application dries on the leaf and takes effect.

As the oval will be closed, dogs are also not permitted on the field during this time.

We are aware that our open spaces are important places for locals and are doing our best to minimise the disruption while this process is carried out. Thank you for your patience.
