Fines Act 1996 reporting

Recent amendments to the Fines Act 1996 require Council to publish a report for the community detailing the number of instances, and reasons, where a penalty notice was not attached to a vehicle.

You can view the current report below, with future reports to be made available on this page.

Report 1/07/2025 - 30/9/2025

Early Bird Parking

Early Bird Parking is available on P4 at The Canopy for visitors who enter before 9:30am and exit after 4:00pm.

EasyPark App

Have you stayed more than 3 hours? A new payment option, EasyPark, is now available in all four Council car parks:

  • The Canopy
  • Little Street
  • St Leonards Central
  • Market Square

EasyPark is a third-party app that operates independently from Council. It is simply an additional payment option for those looking to “set and forget”. The existing payment options at PayStations, upon exit, and via www.lanecoveparking.com.au are still available.

Council is pleased to provide greater flexibility for our community, and we encourage you to choose the payment method that best suits you.

About EasyPark

How it works:

  • Download the app and register your mobile number, vehicle registration, and payment method.
  • Activate CameraPark.
  • On Entry: you will receive a push notification confirming a session has started.
  • On Exit: Drive to the boom gate (at Little Street) or simply exit the car park at Market Square, St Leonards Central, or The Canopy. You will receive a push notification confirming the end of the session, with the transaction recorded in the app and a receipt emailed to you.

EasyPark is widely used across Australia (and internationally) with participating councils and parking operators offering it alongside more traditional payment systems.

In Lane Cove, EasyPark is available as an additional, separate payment option in the four main car parks. Council does not manage EasyPark and all queries must be directed to www.easypark.com/en-au. Transaction fees apply.

Electric Vehicles

Within Car Parks

Council provides access to 22 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in car parks:

  • The Canopy Car Park includes 8 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations - including 2 “fast” chargers which are located on P2 which require customers to download the Evie App before use. There are 6 “slow” chargers located on P3 which cost $0.22/kwh and require customers to download the Exploren app. Please note, the fast chargers are approximately 10x faster than the slow chargers and do NOT have a fixed cost per kwh.

  • Four in Little Street Car Park (level P4)

  • Four at Market Square Car Park (level P2)

  • Six at St Leonards Central Car Park (level B2 at 88 Christie Street) including two fast charging stations.

  • Please note - The fast charging stations require customers to download the Evie App before use.

On Street Facilities

There are on-street parking spaces at locations close to, and/or at the following addresses:

Upon parking in one of the designated spaces, motorists must use the relevant App associated with the charging device. EV owners can then plug in their own charging cables to their car and the unit affixed to the street pole before following the steps on their App to start charging.

To view the closest EV charging option to you, visit our What's Around Me? Online Map.

You can also send Council an email to suggest a future location for an on-street EV charger.

Please note a portion of spaces in the Civic Centre Car Park (48 Longueville Road) is a restricted parking zone (no parking between 6:00am - 6:00pm, Monday to Friday). All spaces in the car park are available outside of these times.
