Safety in School Zones

Overview

School-aged children can be less visible to motorists and therefore more vulnerable. 

We need your help to make our roads safer for our children:

• Drive no more than 40km/h in a school zone
• Park sensibly in and around school zones and avoid dangerous manoeuvres, like U-turns and three-point turns. 
• Check https://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/stayingsafe/schools/index.html for practical advice in helping to keep children safe during drop-off and pick-up at schools.

School Zone Newsletter

Council publishes a School Zone newsletter every term, which is distributed by local schools to their parent/carer community. The newsletter focuses on role of School Zone Crossing Supervisor and parking rules around school.

Become a School Crossing Supervisor

Applications are being sought for paid School Crossing Supervisors around schools in the Lane Cove LGA.

Be a part of keeping students and carers safe around schools.

School Crossing Supervisors are always required.
