Electrify Everything

Actions to take to Electrify Everything

Councils across Australia are uniting to encourage residents to electrify their homes, as part of a campaign led by Merri-bek City Council.

From heating, cooling, hot water and cooking, to cars, bicycles and scooters – all-electric is healthy and clean to run.

Everyone can enjoy the performance leaps electric appliances have taken over the past few years. That’s cheaper heating, cooling, hot water, cooking, and transport.

And it doesn’t have to be all at once. Take time to prepare so that when appliances, like hot water, need replacing, you’re ready to make the switch.

Move to renewable electricity for clean air and a safe choice for your household. Join the clean energy future and make your home all-electric.

Here are 5 actions you can take:

  • Install solar or switch to GreenPower
  • Switch to reverse-cycle air-conditioning for heating
  • Replace old gas hot water with heat pump system
  • Upgrade to induction cooking
  • Move to electric cars, bikes, or scooters

Council has rebates available to help you with installing rooftop solar panels, a solar battery, electric vehicle charger, induction cooktop, reverse-cycle air conditioner, and hot water heat pump. There are also NSW Government incentives available for air-conditioning, hot water systems, and joining a Virtual Power Plant (VPP).

Create your Action Plan to prepare so that when appliances need replacing, you’re ready to make the switch!
